Blending
Here's a quite basic tutorial on rudimentary blending using PSP. Blending is a newish technique where the artist makes several images look like one (usually realistically-aimed). Let's start.
1. Choose around 3 images if this is your first blending attempt, more if you feel confident. I chose pics of Ashanti which can be found here.
With your first two images, past them into a new canvas (sized around 800x500) and make the second photo overlap the first one slightly, as shown below:
2. Now select the eraser tool (the tool with a pencil with a rubber on the end) and choose a soft brush, sized around 40 pixels. Use the settings on your eraser toolbar using the ones demonstrated below:
Now with the second picture selected (or highlighted) in the layers box, just erase around the image till it looks somewhat effective/realistic. Note that the layer has to be selected that your deleting from otherwise it won't work (I remember puzzling over that for ages when I first started!)
Do the same process with the third image, have it overlapping the second blended image and again, erase away.
3. You should now have an image similar to the one below (or better!)
I did the last one bigger for effect, but you can have it the same scale all the way if you want. Now, the blend at the moment is fine, but you may think it looks a bit plain. Here's a few tips on making the blend more interesting.
4. Make a new raster layer ( Layer >> New raster layer ) and fill it with a gradient of any colours. Then right click on the layer in the layers palette and click 'Properties'. There should be a list of blending options. Scroll down and pause to see each effect's preview. On this case, I chose 'Soft Light. Here's my blend at the moment. (You may wish to lower the opacity or erase it for parts you don't want the gradient to affect).
5. Now I want a sparkle effect so I choose some sparkle brushes. Here's it finished:
